Hello, i be Cheechy and I'm raising funds for my dad, Todd, who has been fighting cholangiocarcinoma of the liver since early 2025. I love my dad so much and the thought of losing him hurts even more. I can't imagine the pain him and my step-mom, Tania, must be going through with this battle and I want to provide support in some way. Meet My Dad!

~Dad Facts~

  1. My dad’s favourite colour is green.

  2. My dad was adopted and my grandparents’ only child.

  3. My dad started playing music at {age} years old as a church organist.

  4. My dad is the keyboardist in a Ska band called Blank Expression.

  5. Blank Expression was formed in {year} and after a long hiatus began playing again in {year}.

  6. Blank Expression won the Burlington Sound of Music Festival’s very 1st Battle of the Bands in 1983

  7. They performed on the Main Stage of the Sound of Music Festival for a high-profile legacy performance 42 years after their Battle of the Bands victory~

  8. His nickname in Blank Expression is Uncle Todd. My cousin chanted this at one of the shows and everyone joined in and it stuck~

  9. He is a talented drummer as well! Having performed and released an album with the Ottawa-based band, Coma Lodge.

  10. My dad and I were both in a marching band, the Burlington Teen Tour Band, when we were each teenagers. He played the triple drums and I played the glockenspiel.

  11. My dad has always wanted to play the accordion~

  12. My dad was known in high school for his cool pants, same as I was!

  13. My dad once went to the same party as members of Van Halen~

  14. The band, Rush, once performed at my dad’s high school.

  15. My dad used to play Ice Hockey with "Fast" Eddy McDonald, a renowned yo-yo champion and Guiness World Record holder of the “most loop the loop yo-yo tricks in one hour”

  16. My dad used to play Softball for multiple teams when I was a kid, going to his games is a favourite memory of mine.

  17. My dad has been married 3 times~ He married my step-mom in Jamaica in 2013!

  18. My dad and I once ate so many cashews at one time that we got sick.

  19. My dad instilled the phrase “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst” in me my whole life.

  20. My dad always said “Practice makes better, not perfect, nobody’s perfect”

  21. My dad taught me how to not care what others think of me, by embarrassing the shit out of me whenever he could. It worked.

  22. My dad is good at puzzles and can solve a rubix cube pretty quickly.

  1. People like to say that my dad looks like a pirate. It caused a pirate frenzy where everyone gave him pirate themed gifts and he had a bunch of pirate themed decor.

  2. My dad plays on a curling team called the Silky Pirates, they’ve won multiple tournaments for the region.

  3. My dad loves to play golf.

  4. My dad’s one eye opens wide when he drinks something, I believe this is called Marcus Gunn Jaw-Winking Syndrome (MGJWS)? It used to scare my friends when I was a kid.

  5. My dad was a postal worker before he was forced into early retirement due to cancer, but has had many other careers/jobs before that such as a fork lift operator, school bus driver, cnc machine operator, longshoreman and tanker pump operator.

  6. My dad loves hot weather and has travelled all over the Caribbean, to places like Barbados, Saint Lucia, Jamaica, the Bahamas…. Uuh ask dad to list

  7. My dad’s favourite snacks are popcorn and chips.

  8. My dad loves cats! His cat is named Chester, I call him Chesterfield~

  9. My dad is very handy and converted half his garage into a home sauna and made all the cabinets in the kitchen.

  10. My dad was born on the cusp of Virgo & Libra astrology signs.

  11. My dad is a good cook, and his BBQ skills are amazing, best ribs you’ll ever have~

  12. My dad used to call me pumpkin as a kid, until I told him not to because kids at school said I looked like a pumpkin in my bright orange rain poncho.

  13. My dad accidentally put my head into a ceiling fan as a toddler, he still feels bad about it.

  14. As a Postie, my dad used to walk roughly 28.5 km (17.7 mi) a day delivering mail

  15. My dad used to put me in front of the speakers and play Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon to calm me down as a baby, the heartbeat at the beginning always did the trick.

  16. My dad likes musicals and has seen Chicago, Wicked and the Lion King in person.

  17. My dad is a social butterfly and can make friends wherever he goes~ I did not inherit this trait.

  18. My dad has fought cancer once before and won, it was {cancer type} in a lymph node on his neck. He’s a fighter and will fight this cancer too!
